4 years before college

I have mixed feelings on starting high school next year. It’s going to be just like staring middle school all over again. We have to go to a new school, meet different people, and learn more stuff. I was really nervous when I started middle school and starting high school is going to be even worse. I don’t like the idea of being in the highest grade level right now and then starting off at the lowest grade level in high school. I like meeting new people but I’m still nervous about meeting new people at the high school. I’m excited to play on the sports teams because there are a bigger selection and they are more competitive. I also like that there are a lot of interesting class that you get to choose from. I have friends that are already there and I’m excited to finally be in the same school as them. My brother was a senior there last year and my cousin is a senior this year so I’m not going to have any family while I’m there which is a good thing and bad thing. But overall, I’m excited to start high school next year.

  • Hey. My name is Christina, you left a comment on my blog a few days ago. Um, no, college in New Zealand is not like your college. Our college would be your high school; it goes from year 9 (most people being 13 years of age) to year 13 (most people being 18 years of age), then after that most people go off to university (thats your ‘college’). So, yea. I can relate to being nervous about starting a new school. I was terrified! But, now that we’ve been going for a week, it’s not so scary. So, I hope you enjoy your years at high school.

  • Hi my name is Patrick and I am at middle school as well. I know you are nerves but you just need to think about the good things high school can bring like more opportunities that you can be involved in. Anyway, good luck at your new school next year.
    Keep in touch.
    Bye.
