What’s standing in my way?
“What are the greatest obstacles to the fulfillment of my dreams and goals?”
Well, right now I am applying to Choate and I think that is an extremely difficult thing to do for many reasons. You have to be an excellent student to get in. I have to pass the SSATs, which I’m not sure I can do. They are looking for somebody who is going to give back to the community and work really hard. I also know that so many people want to go there, so its going to be difficult to compete against people who are just as good as me or even better. Another obstacle is that I have to stand out and be somebody that they would really want to go there, and that means that I have to work really hard for them to understand that I should be able to go there. I also have other things to do besides trying to get into Choate so those things might get in the way of making it. It also says that 1 out of every 4 make it so that seems kind of hard to me. And finally, I have to get excellent grades. My plan to overcome these obstacles would be to try extremely hard and do stuff for the community and get excellent grades this year. Oh and I want to be a lawyer but thats a really far time away so i could go on and on about the obstacles, but I wont.
Do you think this is a hard thing for me to do? What obstacles stand in your way?

So what is you plan to deal with just one of the things you listed?

I’m applying for Choate also and I agree with you 100%. There is really a lot of pressure to do well this year and be a certain kind of student. Anyway, all im going to try to do is do my best - they can’t ask me for more than my best.
If my best isn’t good enough than maybe I wouldn’t have been happy at choate anyway. That’s just my perspective.
Either way its going to be an interesting & difficult year.
